ART GALLERY MESTROVIC SPLIT
For fans of sculpture in Split is the gallery Mestrovic. A museum in a monumental building in which the most important work of the 20th century sculptor Ivan Mestrovic can be found. Mestrovic is considered the Croatian Rodin. The permanent exibition contains a treasure of sculpures, drawings, sketches, furniture and archtecture.
The collection of sculptures consists of the models in plaster and the finished sculptures in bronze, marble and wood. In short: ultimatly interesting and wortwhile.
CAVE VRANJACA
In Kotlenice at about 40 km. from Seget Vranjica (near Dugopolje) you can visit an impressive cave.
The entrance of the cave is at about 452 m. at the foot of the mountain Mosor and is more than 100 m. long. The temperature in the cave is through the year about 15 degrees Celsius and a humidity of 68%, so you will not need special clothing. BLUE LAGOON KRKNJASI
In the summerseason you can make a boattrip from the harbour in Seget Vranjica to the "blue lagoon" on the island Drvenik Veliki. This is a shallow bay between the islands with extraordinary clean water where it is splendid to snorkel. The boat is going more times in daytime so you can decide for yourself when you go and when you return. There is a restaurant where it is pleasant to stay a while.
RAPTOR CENTRE DUBRAVA
In the middle of the woods near Sibenik is the raptor centre (sokolarski centar) Dubrava. Though difficult to find and an website only in Croatian we mention this center on our website because a visit is very much worthwhile. The centre is free to visit but we advise you to attend the sympathic and capable demonstration with a lot of explaining in English and a very surprising show.
